DTF Care Guide
Direct-to-film decoration produces bright, detailed artwork. A few simple habits protect the print from unnecessary heat, chemical, and friction damage.
Do This
- Wait at least 24 hours after receiving the garment before its first wash.
- Turn shirts and washable garments inside out.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
- Hang dry whenever practical, or tumble dry using low heat.
- Store garments clean and dry without folding sharply through the design.
Do Not
- Do not use bleach, harsh stain removers, or liquid fabric softener.
- Do not wash or dry using high heat.
- Do not dry clean DTF-decorated garments.
- Never place an iron directly on the printed design.
- Do not attempt to re-press, glue, peel, or repair the print yourself.
DTF Hats
Follow the hat’s sewn-in care label. Unless that label specifically allows machine washing, spot-clean the hat with cool water and mild soap. Do not soak it or place it in a washer or dryer. Air dry it while maintaining its shape.
Important Care Notice
DTF prints are durable, but no decoration is indestructible. Garment fabric, friction, detergents, repeated laundering, and heat all affect longevity. Damage caused by bleach, harsh chemicals, high heat, dry cleaning, direct ironing, improper washing, or customer alteration is not considered a production defect.
